성적나침반을 처음 여시면 채팅창 하나가 보입니다. 버튼도 메뉴도 거의 없습니다. 그래서 오히려 “여기서 뭘 해야 하지?” 하고 막막하실 수 있습니다.
이 글은 그 첫 화면 앞에서 무엇부터 하면 되는지 순서대로 알려드립니다. 컴퓨터를 잘 다루지 못하셔도 괜찮습니다. 카카오톡으로 대화하듯 말만 하시면 됩니다.
성적나침반은 무엇을 해주나요
한 줄로 말씀드리면, 흩어져 있는 자녀 학습 자료를 한곳에 모아두고, 나중에 물어보면 그 기록을 근거로 답해주는 서비스입니다.
성적표는 가방 속에, 가정통신문은 냉장고에, 학원 상담에서 들은 이야기는 머릿속에 있습니다. 정작 필요한 순간에 한 번에 꺼내보기가 어렵습니다. 그것들을 사진으로 찍어 올려두시면 성적나침반이 정리해서 보관합니다.
1단계. 로그인하기
구글 계정으로 로그인합니다. 따로 아이디를 만들거나 비밀번호를 새로 정하실 필요가 없습니다. 평소 쓰시던 구글 계정(지메일 주소)을 그대로 쓰시면 됩니다.
구글 계정이 없으시면 먼저 하나 만드셔야 합니다. 자녀분이나 주변에 물어보시면 5분이면 됩니다.
2단계. 크레딧 충전하기
성적나침반은 미리 충전해두고 쓰는 방식입니다. 최소 1만원부터 충전하실 수 있습니다.
많은 분들이 여기서 걱정하시는 부분을 먼저 말씀드리겠습니다.
- 매달 자동으로 결제되지 않습니다. 정기 구독이 아니라서 카드에서 저절로 빠져나가는 일이 없습니다.
- 충전한 금액은 없어지지 않습니다. 한 달 동안 안 쓰셨다고 사라지지 않습니다.
- 쓴 만큼만 줄어듭니다. 남은 금액은 화면에서 언제든 확인하실 수 있습니다.
그래서 처음에는 1만원만 넣어보시고, 써보신 다음에 더 넣으실지 정하시면 됩니다.
3단계. 자녀 등록하기
자녀 이름과 학년을 등록합니다. 자녀가 둘 이상이어도 각각 따로 관리되니 순서대로 등록해두시면 됩니다.
등록은 채팅창에 그냥 말씀하시면 됩니다.
“우리 아이 등록해줘. 이름은 김민수, 고등학교 2학년이야.”
버튼을 찾아 누르실 필요가 없습니다. 이게 성적나침반을 쓰는 기본 방식입니다.
첫 성적표를 올려보세요
여기까지 하셨으면 준비가 끝났습니다. 이제 가장 최근 성적표를 찾아서 사진으로 찍어 올려보세요.
사진을 올리는 방법은 카카오톡에서 사진 보내는 것과 같습니다. 채팅창 옆의 클립 모양이나 더하기 모양 버튼을 누르고, 찍어둔 사진을 고르시면 됩니다.
사진을 올리시면 성적나침반이 성적표를 읽어서 과목과 점수를 나눠 정리합니다. 정리된 내용을 화면에 먼저 보여드리니, 잘못 읽은 부분이 있으면 그 자리에서 말씀해주시면 고칩니다.
“수학 점수가 잘못 들어갔어. 88점이야.”
사진을 찍으실 때
- 글자가 흐리지 않게, 밝은 곳에서 찍어주세요
- 성적표 전체가 한 장에 들어가게 찍어주세요
- 비뚤어져도 괜찮습니다. 크게 문제되지 않습니다
이렇게 물어보시면 됩니다
성적표를 두세 개 올려두시면 그때부터 물어보실 수 있는 것이 많아집니다.
“우리 아이 수학 성적, 지난 학기랑 비교해줘.”
“어느 과목을 먼저 잡아야 할까?”
“이번 학기 전체적으로 어땠어?”
중요한 점이 하나 있습니다. 성적나침반은 실제로 올려두신 기록을 근거로 답합니다. 기록이 하나도 없으면 답할 것도 없습니다. 그래서 처음에는 지난 성적표들을 몇 개 올려두시는 것이 좋습니다.
가정통신문도 올려보세요
시험 안내문이나 가정통신문을 사진으로 올리시면 시험 날짜와 과목별 범위를 뽑아서 일정으로 정리해둡니다.
냉장고에 붙여둔 종이를 매번 다시 읽지 않으셔도 됩니다. 나중에 “이번 달 시험 언제야?” 하고 물어보시면 됩니다.
알아두시면 좋은 것
직접 입력하면 사용료가 들지 않습니다. 일정이나 학습 기록은 채팅으로 말씀하셔도 되고, 웹 화면에서 직접 입력하셔도 됩니다. 직접 입력하시는 경우에는 AI를 쓰지 않으므로 크레딧이 줄지 않습니다.
자녀 계정을 따로 만들어줄 수 있습니다. 자녀가 직접 자기 기록을 보고 남길 수 있습니다. 다만 자녀에게는 교육비 지출 내역이나 다른 형제의 기록이 보이지 않습니다.
잘못 말해도 괜찮습니다. 기록이 잘못 들어갔으면 “아까 그거 지워줘” 또는 “88점으로 고쳐줘”라고 하시면 됩니다.

When you first open GradeCompass, you see a single chat window. Almost no buttons, no menus. That can leave you wondering where to even begin.
This guide walks you through what to do first, in order. You do not need to be good with computers. If you can send a message on a messaging app, you can use this.
What GradeCompass does
In one sentence: it gathers your child’s scattered study records in one place, and answers your later questions based on what has accumulated.
Report cards live in the backpack, school notices on the fridge, and what you heard at the academy consultation stays in your head. When you actually need them, none of it comes together. Photograph them, upload them, and GradeCompass organizes and keeps them.
Step 1. Sign in
Sign in with your Google account. There is no separate ID to create and no new password to remember. Use the Google account you already have.
If you do not have one, you will need to create it first. Anyone around you can help you do it in about five minutes.
Step 2. Add credit
GradeCompass runs on prepaid credit. The minimum top-up is 10,000 KRW.
Three things people usually worry about, answered up front:
- Nothing is charged automatically each month. This is not a recurring subscription, so nothing leaves your card on its own.
- Your credit does not expire. It does not disappear because you did not use it for a month.
- It only decreases as you use it. The remaining balance is visible on screen at any time.
So start with 10,000 KRW, try it, and decide about adding more afterwards.
Step 3. Register your child
Register your child’s name and grade level. If you have more than one child, each is tracked separately, so just register them one at a time.
You do this by simply saying it in the chat window.
“Register my child. Name is Minsu Kim, second year of high school.”
No need to hunt for a button. This is the basic way GradeCompass works.
Upload your first report card
That is the setup done. Now find the most recent report card, photograph it, and upload it.
Uploading works the same as sending a photo in a messaging app. Tap the clip or plus icon next to the chat box and pick the photo you took.
GradeCompass reads the report card and separates out subjects and scores. It shows you what it extracted first, so if anything was misread you can correct it right there.

When taking the photo
- Shoot in good light so the text is not blurry
- Fit the whole report card into one frame
- A crooked angle is fine and rarely causes problems
What to ask
Once two or three report cards are in, there is much more you can ask.
“Compare my child’s math scores with last semester.”
“Which subject should we focus on first?”
“How did this semester go overall?”
One thing matters here. GradeCompass answers based on the records you have actually uploaded. With no records, there is nothing to answer from. So it helps to upload several past report cards early on.
Upload school notices too
Upload a photo of an exam guide or school notice and the test dates and per-subject scopes are pulled out into a schedule.
You no longer need to reread the paper on the fridge. Just ask later: “When are the exams this month?”
Worth knowing
Direct entry costs nothing. Schedules and study logs can be entered by chat or typed directly on the web screen. Direct entry does not use AI, so it does not consume credit.
You can create a separate account for your child. Your child can view and add their own records. However, education spending and other siblings’ records are not visible to them.
Mistakes are fine. If something was recorded wrong, just say “delete that” or “change it to 88.”
